Where the walking away from explosion meme comes from
Walking away from an explosion without looking back is one of the oldest action-movie moves. The hero sets something off, turns around and strolls toward the camera while a fireball fills the screen behind them.
No single film invented it, but it was everywhere in 1980s and 1990s action movies, and the 2009 Lonely Island song "Cool Guys Don't Look at Explosions" turned it into a joke everyone knows. Now the walk is back as a trend: people post themselves doing it, and AI makes it possible without a film crew.
Why it feels like a movie trailer
Slow-motion hero walk
You keep walking toward the camera while the camera pulls back, the shot every action trailer uses.
The fireball keeps going
The explosion grows, sparks and debris fly and the shockwave lifts your jacket, all in 5 seconds.
Your face, movie outfit
Face and hair stay yours; the AI dresses you in dark sunglasses and an open leather jacket.

BeforeWhat you get in 5 seconds
Every clip follows the same shot, so it reads instantly as the meme.
| Second | What happens |
|---|---|
| 0–1 | You walk toward the camera on the centre line of a dark highway |
| 1–3 | The fireball behind you swells, sparks and debris fly |
| 3–5 | A second burst lights you from behind, the shockwave lifts your jacket, you keep walking |
The video is 9:16, so it fills a phone screen.
Explosion walk GIF or video?
Post the MP4 to TikTok, Reels or Shorts and add your own sound; a deep bass hit or the classic song works well. Use the GIF when you want a reaction for a group chat, for example after you finish a project and walk away from the mess.
The GIF is made in your browser at 400 pixels wide and 12 frames per second, which keeps it small enough to send.
How much does it cost?
Each video costs 20 credits; the GIF of the same video is free to download.
| Pack | Price | Explosion walk videos |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $5.99 for 250 credits | 12 videos, about 50 cents each |

Photos that work best
Any photo where your face is clear and well lit. A plain headshot is enough, because the AI creates your body, outfit and the road around you.
Since the outfit includes sunglasses, the face shape and hair are what make it look like you, so pick a photo where your hair is visible. One person per photo.
